The results are in--Ms. O’Connor is the Educational Support Professional of the Year!! In honor of his award, PQ magazine has set up a Q&A with Ms. O’Connor to get an inside look at how she feels about winning!
Q: What does this award mean to you
A: First, I am honored that I was even chosen for this award. I am very grateful and this is something that not a lot of people get to experience. So I am very grateful and honored that I was chosen this year.
Q: What qualities do you have that helped you win this award?
A: I believe I am very kind and willing to help not just my students but everyone in Pequannock. I also have a great relationship with staff and I enjoy helping communicate and assist all the kids at PTHS.
Q: What advice would you give to another teacher who is striving for this position
A: Keep doing what you are doing! You do not need an award to show how much you have done. Some people who aren't in education find it harder for them to see what students need to succeed and I am beyond grateful that I am recognized for that trait.
Q: Do you have any final thoughts?
A: Thank you!! This is an amazing opportunity and I would like to thank you for interviewing me! This is a very big shock for me. I hope I can continue to make the Pequannock community proud.
Q: What is your favorite type of flooring material?
A: Wow, probably Wood!
