The Pequannock High School football team closed out the 2025-2026 season with a 4-5 overall record, including a 2-3 mark in the Super Football Conference’s American White Division under the direction of Head Coach Gino Fluri. Despite a rocky start, the Golden Panthers showed resilience, finishing the season with back-to-back wins and laying a solid foundation for the future. With new coaches, this season marked a fresh start and featured some big moments. The season can be summed up by freshman coach VanOrdan who said “You cant be great without the greatness of others,” a touching statement that shows true sportsmanship and the overarching goal of the team.

The season kicked off on September 5th at home against a tough Mountain Lakes squad. Though Pequannock fell 49-14, the team recovered impressively the following week, defeating Parsippany on the road, 34-6, to even their record at 1-1. The middle of the season proved to be a challenge with a few losses, including Ramsey (42-14), Kinnelon (21-0), and Hanover Park (50-0), dropping the Panthers to 1-4. Despite the setback, the Panthers continued to battle and shut out Morris Catholic, 12-0. With another loss to Madison (28-14), the Panthers fell back to 2-5. The Panthers finished their season with two wins on the road against Sussex Tech (34-6) and Jefferson (34-14), bringing their record back up to 4-5.
Pequannock’s success on offense was powered by several standout performers. Senior quarterback Braydon VanLenten (#4) led in passing, throwing for 1,004 yards over the course of the season. Dual-threat senior Dylan Roemmele (#20) led in rushing, racking up 567 rushing yards. Roemmele also led the team in receiving, getting 437 yards, showing his versatility and importance to the Panthers’ offense.
As the Golden Panthers gear up for the 2026 season, we have plenty of reasons to be excited about the direction of the program under Coach Fluri’s leadership. Can't wait for a great next season! Go Panthers!
